Second bathroom the shower handle was broken and would not stay in place it would slowly turn from gravity to either really hot or really cold, you had to try to balance it in the middle and get in and out quickly. Maintenance was notified and after 2 visits they did fix the toilet but the drains were never fixed. The master bath toilet would not flush and the sink and shower had a slow drain. Stayed in a family suite 2 bedroom 2 bath. Finally, subscribe to their email list to be notified of sales or Groupon for discounted rooms. Their restaurants are good and we have tried them at least once but as we grew as a family it became prohibitive. For dinner, we usually go out or have food delivered to the hotel since it is expensive at the hotel. The goggles at their store tend to be too small so bring from home. Although they are usually so tired that they go out quickly at night. Hallways can be noisy even at night depending on the season and volume of guests so earplugs or white noise machines can help little ones settle. Bring disposable silverware or dishwashing soap if you want to reuse. Particularly breakfast so you can start your day quickly and inexpensively. Tips: Bring food items from home that can be reheated in the microwave and/or remain in a cooler or mini fridge. The skin feels it so come prepared to lather yourself with body lotion after the pool. The smell of chlorine can be overwhelming for some with nasal sensitivities. During the summer months traffic is higher so it can get dirtier quickly. The cleanliness of the pools varies with season. I have seen many teenagers be bored by the Magic Quest or Shadow Quest. For teens, it depends on their particular interests. If they are above 6 it can be worthwhile to do at least once. They are not attentive enough or tall enough to do many of the activities. If you travel with young children (5 and under) do not bother with the pup passes. On the other hand, the snack places have gotten better with the years and now have a regular fare of American food (burgers, chicken fingers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, etc.) and drinks (water, soda, beers, mixed drinks, etc.) so there are options if you don’t feel like going back to the room. Sometimes going back to your room can mean a good trek. So, that means if you want a snack/drink you either purchase them there or go back to your room and eat there. However, now they are stricter in the waterpark side and are no longer allowing snacks into it. Thankfully the hotel rooms have mini fridge and microwave ovens. This is our fourth time coming to Great Wolf Lodge. Many families we talked with go to Great Wolf every year. We got through check in in 15 minutes and this was during Christmas break! Very efficient and friendly staff. The wait for elevators can be a couple of minutes sometimes but not a problem. The rooms and beds were comfortable and very clean. Morning yoga for the kids is a great idea too. The kids enjoyed the games, snowflake making and story time in their pj’s. I wouldn’t pay for a character breakfast, just eat at the regular restaurant and see the characters there.Įvening activities are a lot of fun. Great Wolf characters march through the restaurant at breakfast and dinner and are available fir picture taking. There are guides for toddlers as well as older kids who can choose from 3 different guides. They follow a guide to find objects on each of the floors and insert their wands in the object. You buy magic wands for the kids (reusable every visit). Great Wolf’s most highly rated (by the kids themselves) activity is Magi Quest. There are generous sized towels given out based on the number of people in your room. Regarding the lazy river, it was good but I think the water pressure when you go under the falls is too heavy/hard coming down and I had to put my hands on the top of my head to protect it from the water beating down on it. The pool area is a lot of fun for everyone, has life jackets in every area for the children, has a nice toddler area, a fun house, a lazy river, slides for all ages, a wave pool, a regular pool, an adult only hot tub as well as a family friendly one and I’m sure other things I’ve left out. Great Wolf has something to offer for everyone and is especially good at family activities. This is our r (the grandparents) first visit and we were delighted. Our family consisted of a 7 yr old, a 2-1/2 yr old, their parents and 70+ grandparents.
